Pigments - inks - acrylic medium on paper mounted on canvas
These paintings have been produced at a time where I was very immersed in the study of pictorial composition. I was also designing and teaching workshops and courses about the Language of Form, Composition and Visual Communication.
My reflexions around that subject lead me to decompose my paintings into each primary element of composition, and create mutil-panel works in which each panel was representing one or two elements only of the visual grammar: colour, rhythm, texture, line, illusion of depth/flat surface, transparent/opaque, etc. I was then assembling the panels in various combinations, as if exploring the basis of Harmony on a visual level.
